The adventure begins.
I love hiking. I love to go out into the quiet and breath the fresh air. I love to be alone with my thoughts. It is my perfect self-care activity. Unfortunately, I am not good at making myself get out there or at staying in shape to be able to enjoy hiking when I can go.
In an effort to truly go and do all the hiking, I have set several goals for myself. First, I am trying to average one "hike" a week this year by doing the 52 Hike Challenge. I'm off to a bang-up start with this... we are on the 5th week of the new year and I have taken ONE hike.Work in progress. Second, I am going to hike the Wonderland Trail in 2019. Eek!
In the likely event you aren't familiar with it, the Wonderland Trail is a 93(ish) mile hike around Mt. Rainier in Washington State. Eek!
To keep me honest, I'm starting this blog as a journal of my journey. I am out of shape and significantly overweight. I work nights. I work a lot. And I have a family - three awesome, active kiddos and a super supportive hubby.
So I'm officially putting this out there. I don't have much to brain space to spare, so this will be rough and honest, and certainly riddled with grammatical errors. This is an enormous effort. I will succeed!
